Building on the ground-breaking development of Pulse, the world’s first ‘Guybrator’, Curventa were tasked by sex toy company Hot Octopuss to create a more compact version of the stroker. Due to Pocket Pulse’s smaller size, we had to adopt a different approach to the creation of stimulation. This was achieved through dual vibration motors that in tandem deliver a unique and powerful sensation.

How to make a wearable, wearable.

As a lighter weight version of its predecessor, the form factor for Pocket Pulse also had to be updated. Simple yet sophisticated use of materials allowed for the creation of a self-sprung finger that holds the toy in place and grows as required. 

During the design process we made extensive use of models and prototypes to ensure that the product was “fit” for purpose. This helped us create the right grip for the user and ensured that the controls were in an intuitive, easy to find location. The inclusion of a small remote allowed for a more hands-off approach.

The common use of the brand DNA that was created for Pulse is also evident in Pocket Pulse. This uniform identity instantly makes it recognisable as a Hot Octopuss product.

The speed from concept sketch to shelf-ready product was accelerated by a very strong working relationship with our manufacturing partners in the Far East.
